experiment with me
hi, i’m karianna! i’m a self-taught (read: mother and food network taught) baker from the midwest.
i always tell people baking is in my blood. my mom has made wedding cakes (like show stoppingly beautiful wedding cakes) my entire life, and i was always looking for ways to be in the kitchen with her - helping with stirring, pouring, and then even decorating as i got older.
when i was old enough to be deemed an appropriate age to use the oven, i started “experimenting” in the kitchen. working with different edible textures and flavors has always been my favorite art-form; incorporating all of the senses, my own little science experiments.
i worked at a cupcake bakery for 6 years in the aftermath of the great cupcake boom in the 2000’s-2010’s. while i enjoyed that a lot, i much prefer to bake whatever i want whenever i want and to flex my creative muscle here, sharing my discoveries and creations with you all.
